Who We Are

About Our Church

A congregation of baptized believers committed to the glory of God and the spread of the Gospel.

Our Mission

Growing in Grace, Living in Love

South Liberty Baptist Church exists by the grace of God alone, for the glory of God alone, which shall be the ultimate purpose in providing and maintaining a place of worship, edification, fellowship, discipleship and evangelism for the glory of God.

Our Purpose

Why We Exist

We take God's Word, the Holy Bible, as the only rule of faith and practice. We band together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind.

We are committed to the Great Commission — making disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to observe all that Christ has commanded.

We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior.

💒

Baptism

We practice believer's baptism by immersion following a public profession of faith in Christ.

🍞

Lord's Supper

We observe the Lord's Supper as a symbolic act commemorating the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ.

👨‍👩‍👧

Marriage & Family

We believe the only Scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. (Gen. 2:24)

🌍

The Gospel

We are personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind throughout all nations.

Our Commitment

Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Christ as our Savior and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage, therefore by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation.
